The consortium for the MariGreen sub-project ‚Plug and Play Energypack for Inland and Shortsea Shipping‘ met at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven on the 28.06.16 to begin detailed discussions for the turbine research program that will play a central role in the development of this innovative LNG solution. This research will be led by Prof. David Smeulders and will determine the performance requirements for the turbine within the energy pack. This will be achieved by evaluating numerically and experimentally direct LNG injection into a turbine combustor for higher turbine efficiency and simpler Energy Pack layout.
